Marketing strategy

Clarity, understanding and action on your marketing activity.

Marketing strategy

Why do you need a marketing strategy?

Marketing is so much more than a brochure, an email campaign or a LinkedIn advert. It’s about the whole customer journey.

Creating a marketing strategy is doing the groundwork, defining who your customer is and what they want. This includes customer journey and profiling, brand propositions and messaging, market research, product/service development and launch, activity plans, budgets, reports and insights. It’s all about getting closer to customers and increasing revenue.

As a B2B marketing consultant, your business gets my complete focus with clear deliverables. Working with a CIM-qualified marketer, you’re tapping into 16 years of experience across over 100 businesses, planning and launching campaigns, recruiting and managing teams and developing strategies and budgets. I have tried and tested approaches to marketing and I know what’s most likely to get results.

How you can work with me

The full package:

At the core of a great brand is establishing (or reconnecting) with your purpose, considering who your customers are and why, and then connecting the dots between your purpose, your product and your customer. I’ll take all your thoughts and data about your brand and turn this into a tangible proposition and action-focused strategy and plan which can used across all of your customer touchpoints.

The starting point: Initial research on your industry, customers, competitors and marketing data followed by an in-person workshop to cover where your brand is now, where you want to be and how to get there.

The process: I’ll take the workshop outputs, do additional research and develop your strategy, messaging and action plan.

The result: Brand proposition with all your messaging, a strategy with goals and recommendations and an activity plan with a marketing funnel and suggested metrics.

Marketing planning

Focus on research and activity:

This takes the research and workshop elements of the full package. This option works well where you have previously established your messaging and have a marketing team who can run with the workshop outputs.

The starting point: Initial research on your industry, customers, competitors and marketing data followed by an in-person workshop to cover where your brand is now, where you want to be and how to get there.

The process: I’ll write up the workshop outputs including agreed action points.

The result: You have a deeper understanding of your industry, your customers and your marketing environment, with clear actions on your next steps.

Focus on messaging and positioning:

This takes the messaging and positioning elements of the full package. This option works well where you need a messaging specialist and have a marketing team who can use the outputs to create a strategy.

The starting point: An in-person messaging workshop with your team to cover where your brand is now, where you want to be and how it should feel.

The process: I’ll take the workshop outputs and create a draft proposition, then together we will mould this into your brand messaging and proposition.

The result: A brand proposition which includes your purpose, strapline, one-liner, explanatory copy and messaging.

Web and design add-ons

Branding, collateral and websites can all be included as part of your marketing strategy, please note the cost will depend on the scope of the project.

Working with a graphic designer

Branding

This includes design visuals and templates in line with your brand proposition and messaging. This package works for new brands, rebrands and product brands.

I’ll create a draft proposition and the designer will work on your initial visuals – you’ll have plenty of input along the way.

You’ll get design concepts for your brand, including logo, colour palette, font and visual identity (templates for documents and slides can also be included).

Working with a graphic designer

This includes flyers, brochures, presentations and whitepapers. I will write your copy, create the design brief and work with the designer to bring your products to life on paper (or PDF!).

I use a copy-first approach. So once you have approved the copy and a draft layout, I will create a design brief for the graphic designer to work their magic.

You’ll get branded collateral, in all the file types and sizes that you need.

Working with a web developer

Website

This starts with an in-person workshop with your team and/or customers to cover where your website is now, where you want to be and your customer journey.

We’ll take the workshop outputs and create a sitemap and draft content. Once you are happy with this, we will build the site with plenty of progress updates along the way.

This is ideal for B2B brochure websites.
